Welcome to the Karaoke Lounge

We are excited to launch this blog where we will post news, commentary, reviews and links to all things karaoke as well other topics related to singing and music. In addition, we’ll introduce you to the people behind the scenes at The KARAOKE Channel and the processes involved in offering karaoke online, on tv and for download.

We’re looking for community involvement so if you’d like to participate as a guest blogger, or have suggestions for future postings, please let us know. Of course we’re looking forward to your comments and feedback too!

For those of you who don’t already know, The KARAOKE Channel offers 3 services:

• an online karaoke website, where you can sing, record and share your performances online
• a download store, where you can get karaoke files to go
• karaoke on TV, a video on demand service available through your local cable TV companies

The online service streams karaoke songs and recordings over your internet connection. Files are hosted on our servers where all of the community can enjoy them. When you share your recordings using the online service, you share links to your online recordings. You need a computer, internet connection, speakers or headset and a microphone to use this service.  You can record with a microphone only or add a webcam for even more fun!

The download service allows you to save your purchased karaoke tracks on your computer and copy them to any of your multimedia devices that support the playback of mp3, mp4 or wmv files. The mp3 files contain only the audio (with lead vocal track when available), the lyrics are provided on the mp4 video tracks. You’ll need a computer with internet connection to purchase and download the karaoke files, but after that you are free to copy them onto CD or other multimedia device and take them with you.

The On TV service is a video on demand service that allows you to sing along with your tv. You will need to subscribe to the service through your cable television company, after which all you need to do is click on the song you want to sing!
