The KARAOKE Channel ONLINE is a standard website that runs in a web browser on a computer so if you can connect your computer to display on your TV you’ll be able to use The KARAOKE Channel ONLINE with the computer’s display output to your TV.  How you make the connection for the video display between your computer and the TV though will depend on the graphics card installed on your computer and the video inputs of your TV, you may need to purchase cables or converters.

This guide on Microsoft Windows website shows you what types of connections are possible and gives step by step instructions on connecting your computer to your TV.

Of course you may also want to connect the sound output from your computer to your TV or stereo system.  This too will depend on your TV or Stereo System’s audio input. The note on the Microsoft Window’s Guide “Connecting your computer to your TV” explains what you need to know about sound:

Cables for VGA, DVI, and component video don’t support audio signals. However, HDMI cables do support audio signals, but not all HDMI-enabled video cards support audio. If your HDTV has an audio input, you might be able to connect a separate audio cable from your computer sound card directly to the TV. Otherwise, you’ll need to connect the audio signal to a different device, such as external computer speakers or your home stereo system.

Once you’ve got The KARAOKE Channel ONLINE displayed on your TV and the sound hooked up to your sound system, you might want to warn the neighbors and invite your friends over for a party!   Refer to our articles about having karaoke parties:

Hi Jack,
I’ve forwarded a message to support - but it would help if you would send an email to customer support (support@thekaraokechannel.com) with a screenshot of the error message you get when you attempt to log in to the Download Store - thanks

Happy holidays!

How do you hook up a microphone to your stereo so that you get sound from the TV and from the microphone? I’m using the Karaoke Channel with Google TV and Revue, but what if I were just using the Karaoke Channel that’s available on cable TV on demand?

Hi Anne,

You may use any microphone compatible with your television and sound system to enjoy THE KARAOKE Channel on TV (whether you are using the Video on Demand service or the TV App available for Google TV. Since this depends on the specifics of your sound system, we recommend visiting an electronics store that sells microphones for home entertainment systems to ensure that the microphone you purchase is compatible with the other equipment you have.

Can’t seem to find information on any website which specifically explains how to hook up karaoke mics to my google tv. I have a logitech revue google tv system hooked up to an onkyo tx-sr805 receiver and a samsung 58″ tv. What do I need to hook up mics si I can use karaoke channel on my google tv?

I have the same problem. It appears that I will need to hook up computer speakers to The KARAOKE Channel Karaoke Kit and then connect to the TV. This is extremely disappointing. If anyone has any tips or ideas, I would greatly appreciate your feedback.

Hi TJB.
The Karaoke Kit was designed for computers not TVs - it requires plug and play drivers that are not available on TVs.

To help answer your question about what type of microphone to use with your TV, we’ve just posted an article : http://lounge.thekaraokechannel.com/karaoke-microphones-and-tvs/

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the article. Unfortunately, that doesn’t help. The sound from my logitech revue google tv is via an hdmi cable. There is no way to connect that to standard mixers (as far as I can tell), although I may be missing something. It seem like you might be missing out on a segment of the population that wants to use your product but can’t figure out how to do it
thanks again
