Avon Calling! Singers and Songwriters wanted for Online Talent Competition

Avon Voices is Avon’s first global online singing and songwriting talent search and is starting today, December 1st with a Live Twitter Q&A session featuring Fergie, Diane Warren, and Andrea Jung. Tune in to Twitter and follow hashtag #avonvoices starting at 2:45 EST today, December 1st, 2010.

To celebrate its 125th anniversary, Avon is launching a singing and songwriting competition today and is looking for women to share their voice, story and songs with the world. Judging the online talent will be the Grammy Award winning artist Fergie, legendary songwriter Diane Warren, among others. Check out the other celebrity judges here.

To enter:

Singers may choose from a pre-selected song list and submit their video entries online as of today. Submissions will be accepted until February 13, 2011.

The songwriting competition is open to both women and men who can submit original songs celebrating hope, optimism and empowerment - submit entries online.

To vote, all you need to do is register, listen to participants, vote for your favorites and add your commentary.

Nearly 200 participants from around the world will be selected by the judges to travel to one of four cities to record their individual videos and be treated to an Avon makeover.

Avon Voices will top it off with the production and performance of a song written by Diane Warren, performed by the finalists and will be made available for download. Proceeds will be given to Avon’s campaign to end violence against woman and girls.
